- According to the pedigree book "Optegnelser om Fynske Bondesl?gter" by Martin Skovbo (Odense, 1917), the Rosenberg family were of Jewish origin, and their ancestors had emigrated from Rosenburg in Germany - hense the later adoption of the surname Rosenberg. Probably the same place as Rosenburg in Husum district in the Dutchy of Schleswig. Or, less likely, Gross Rosenburg in Colbe district in Sachsen-Anhalt.
